Hospitality-focused hosted TV software solutions provider Otrum is to integrate Techlive’s Airtime cloud-based movie streaming app within its interactive solutions as standard.
Techlive says that with the solution, hoteliers will benefit greatly from using Airtime as an embedded option with Otrum. There are no additional subscription costs, no operational costs and no additional hardware. Should a hotel wish to provide films free to guests, such a licence option can be purchased from local Otrum partners.
Airtime offers guests a content library with films from major Hollywood studios, available weeks before they are launched via other consumer services. Guests choose a movie, pay with a credit card (via a secure PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway), and then receive content streamed directly to the in-room TV. Airtime movies are available in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Russian, with subtitles in Chinese, Arabic, Portuguese and Turkish and are in the early window ahead of domestic streaming services.
The software upgrade, free of charge, is available to all existing and new Otrum IPTV customers, provided that their interactive solution is operating on a compatible smart TV.
“By aligning forces with Otrum we expect our room base to grow even faster,” commented Tim Worrall, managing director of Techlive. “The simplicity of Airtime for the hotelier cannot be understated all logistics are handled online by Techlive, and a seamless experience is delivered to the guest. Airtime works brilliantly with Otrum and has been very well received by hotels and their guests.”
Otrum EVP Nigel Bateson added: “We are very excited to be able to provide the Airtime app as a standard feature, and we expect this to be an attractive add-on to Otrum interactive solutions. In-room content continues to be a high-priority for many, and hoteliers can now take a hands-off approach by use of the Airtime app. As a streaming service, this requires no resources from the hotel and any support needs are directly handled by Techlive.”
