Global production and distribution company Keshet International has secured a raft of pre-sales deals in Israel for the HBO and Keshet Studios limited drama series, Our Boys.
Filmed in Israel and created by Hagai Levi, Joseph Cedar and Tawfik Abu-Wael, Our Boys is based on the events in the summer of 2014 that led to the outbreak of war in Gaza. Two days after three Jewish teenagers were kidnapped and murdered by Hamas militants, the burned body of a Palestinian teenager from eastern Jerusalem was found in a forest on the western outskirts of the city. In the ensuing days, an agent from the internal terror division of the Shin Bet investigates the murder, while the parents of the teenager begin their journey toward justice and consolation.
The 10-part series follows the investigation of Muhammad Abu Khdeir’s murder, and tells the story of all those involved, Jews and Arabs alike, whose lives were forever changed by these events. The drama has been picked up by all four major TV platforms there including leading cable and satellite providers HOT and Yes, as well as mobile operator and OTT/IPTV providers Cellcom tv and Partner TV.
With discussions on-going with numerous broadcast partners and platforms, KI has also closed deals with HBO Europe and HBO Latin America. HBO Latin America will simulcast Our Boys in the Caribbean before rolling out the series throughout Latin America. HBO Europe plans to premiere the series in Spain, Portugal, Nordic, Baltics and CEE from 13 August.
Our Boys is co-produced by Keshet Studios and HBO; produced by Movie Plus; created by Hagai Levi, Joseph Cedar and Tawfik Abu-Wael; executive produced by Hagai Levi, Joseph Cedar, Avi Nir (Keshet Media Group), Alon Shtruzman (Keshet International), Karni Ziv (Keshet Broadcasting), Peter Traugott and Rachel Kaplan (Keshet Studios), Noah Stollman and Michael Lombardo.
