In a move that sees the ad-funded streaming service extend both its device and territorial reach, Pluto TV is now available on Apple products in the UK, Germany and Austria and is debuting in Switzerland.
The new deployment — requiring iOS 10 or later and is available for Apple TV, iPhones and iPad — comes at a time when the AVOD streaming service has recently passed the 18 million monthly user mark worldwide. The integration into the iOS app store and the new mobile streaming capabilities which so far have only been accessible to US users, are seen as offering further growth potential.
The move will see Pluto TV users located in the GSA region are now able to choose from a line-up of over 30 channels, including Pluto TV Movies, MTV Pluto TV and Pluto TV Sitcoms. The UK app includes more than 50 channels, showcasing scripted, factual and non-scripted entertainment as well as indie and mainstream movies on channels such as Pluto TV Drama, Pluto TV Romance, and Pluto TV Crime.
Additionally, Pluto TV’s German-speaking offer is available via Sky Ticket and Amazon Fire TV devices, while in the UK, viewers can access via Roku, Now TV, and Fire TV.
“Our goal is to entertain the planet and reach audiences where they are, be it at home on the TV screen or on the go on their mobile device”, stated Olivier Jollet, managing director Europe at Pluto TV. “Launching on Apple TV and Apple mobile devices in German speaking markets and the UK is the perfect way to do so, since we are now additionally providing our lean-back experience to millions of Apple users. Simply download the app to an Apple device, switch in and enjoy the curated linear programme of Pluto TV.”
