Independent distributor all3media international has concluded what it calls two significant package deals in Asia, with more than 50 hours of factual content heading to Hong Kong.
Principally, free-to-air broadcaster TVB has acquired rights to five series and specials. Raw’s two-parter Drowning in Plastic is included in the deal. Produced for BBC One, this critically acclaimed documentary follows science and wildlife presenter Liz Bonnin as she sets out to reveal the full scale of the world’s plastic problem.
It also features a duo of lifestyle titles featuring two-hour special The Big Fat Lies About Diet and Exercise, from North One Television, and two-part special Eamonn and Ruth’s How to Get a Good Night’s Sleep, from Spun Gold TV. Both were produced for Channel 5.
TVB has also signed up for Gordon, Gino and Fred’s Road Trip (3 x 1-hour) and Gordon, Gino and Fred’s Festive Feast (1 x 75’), two culinary-themed Studio Lambert productions for ITV featuring star chefs Gordon Ramsay and Gino D’Acampo, and master maître d' Fred Sirieix.
Gordon Ramsay features in the second factual package deal signed with Hong Kong’s PCCW. Free TV broadcaster ViuTVsix will debut Gordon Ramsay: 24 Hours to Hell and Back (8 x 60’), Studio Ramsay for FOX, US), a culinary bootcamp that puts failing restaurants back on track. Also included from Studio Ramsay is Born Famous, a four-part series for Channel 4 following the teenage offspring of self-made celebrities as they experience the tough communities where their parents grew up.
