Can anyone tell me without getting too technical how to empty the memory from my XDSR100 I think its been uograded so many times it's suffering a little. Can I do something when its connected to my PC through the RS232?
when you upload a new software into your receiver it will be replaced with the provious one . . it means your memory will not get full due to upgrade proccess.
receivers memory is restricted and its memory will get full when so many channels are saved inside.via Factory reset option on OSD you are enable to clear your receiver memory.
for how to upgrade , there are some article in xcruiser section .
I upgraded xdsr 400 with new software as it froze with 4 green bars Now when i switch it on red dot appears in display and a bright letter from the word boot Its either a b or o or t .Some times it reboots in a loop displaying one of these letters Any help please.
what was your receiver model exactly and which software you sent to it?
model is xdsr 400 reciever cannot communicate with xlink so i switch off reciever open xlink choose file start download then switch on reciever download proceeds and good appears on display reboot then i have the problem as described.I have tried various files including 972 979 981 982 and 984 all same result.

sorry...........which software you sent to it before you had that probleme ?
no software download. fault appeared overnight green dot and 4 green bars instead of time I downloaded software to try to get the box to respond.After good i reboot and get a red dot and a brightly lit letter only one b or o or o or t.
it seems and hard ware problem and most be checked with technician . according to my experences this problem refer to ROM or SMPS.
