RTVE taps Albalá for Catalonian coverage

Just as the region is dominating headlines, Catalonia’s branch of Spanish national broadcaster RTVE has contracted Albalá Ingenieros to supply its cross converter line for line intake of news and sports reporting.

The new equipment will see use for coverage of programming in Catalonia and will handle day-to-day technical requirements. Specifically the UR2000R02 2 RU mounting frame, conceived for housing two modules from TL2000 family, will be deployed with the HXC2000C01 3G/HD/SD-SDI format digital video format converter which can offer de-interlacing, scaling and aspect ratio conversion.

The device also includes a de-interlacer with motion compensation and a sampling structure converter with horizontal and vertical polyphase filters capable of performing both up-conversion to higher resolution formats and down-scaling to lower resolution formats.

Also part of the deal is the Albalá Ingenieros TLE2001C02 communications controller which allows control of any TL2000 family devices that have remote control capability and which are installed in the same mounting frame as the TLE2001C02 via an Ethernet LAN.
