It may have been somewhat overshadowed by the House of Mouse but Apple+ has shown encouraging uptake since its 1 November debut with upcoming original series Servant proving especially popular.
Indeed, research from Parrot Analytics has found that US pre-release demand for the programme is tracking higher that Apple TV+’s other original series ahead of their respective debuts, and is also beating out pre-release demand of recent horror television series debuts. Parrot says that its findings show justification for Apple TV+’s recent decision to renew the M. Night Shyamalan series for a second season before its 28 November premiere.
The research shows that four days out from their respective launch dates, US pre-release demand for Servant was 344% higher than much-heralded Jennifer Aniston vehicle The Morning Show; 141% higher than See; 93% higher than Dickinson; 18% higher than For All Mankind.
Parrot also found that US pre-release demand for Servant was tracking well against a selection of recent psychological horror show debuts, including Hulu’s Castle Rock, Netflix’s The Haunting of Hill House, Netflix’s Chambers, and CBS’s Evil. The analysis showed that after the same four-day period, pre-release demand for Servant was 28.39x higher than Netflix’s Chambers; 413% higher than CBS’s Evil; 379% higher than Netflix’s The Haunting of Hill House; 15.6% higher than Hulu’s Castle Rock.
Summing up the trends, Parrot Analytics observed that while pre-release demand does not predict exactly how the show will perform once it is available for audiences, the data could be seen as showing a very promising omen for Servant and Apple TV+.
