Sky to distribute DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls World Tour in Day-and-Date release

NBCUniversal is to make available its latest releases on a Day-and-Date basis. The first, DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls World Tour, will be released this Friday.
The titles will be available for a 48-hour rental period from Sky and Comcast, both sister companies to NBCUniversal, and a number of other outlets.
In addition to Trolls, which is slated to open in the United States on April 10, titles already in their release window including The Hunt, The Invisible Man and Emma. In the United States the titles will retail at $19.99.
Making the announcement Jeff Shell, CEO, NBCUniversal said: “Universal Pictures has a broad and diverse range of movies with 2020 being no exception. Rather than delaying these films or releasing them into a challenged distribution landscape, we wanted to provide an option for people to view these titles in the home that is both accessible and affordable,” he said. “We hope and believe that people will still go to the movies in theaters where available, but we understand that for people in different areas of the world that is increasingly becoming less possible.”
