In a new deal that includes the launch of Nick Jr and NickToons on the pay-TV provider’s platforms, ViacomCBS Networks International and Sky have announced a multi-year deal in German-speaking markets.
As a result of this new agreement, content such as the popular kids’ shows PAW Patrol and SpongeBob SquarePants will now be available to Sky customers in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Plus as well as linear channels being added to Sky’s portfolio, the deal will include a package of video-on-demand (VOD) content, including over 900 episodes from the Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. library.
“We’re delighted to extend our partnership with Sky and offer Nick Jr. and NickToons fans in the GSA region their favorite shows on Sky platforms,” commented Raffaele Annecchino, president, ViacomCBS Networks EMEA and Asia. “With robust collaborations already in place in the UK and Italy, we truly value our partnership with Sky and are excited to be able to deliver premium kids’ content, both linear and on-demand, to more families in these regions.”
Manuel Kindervater, vice president partner channels/strategy at Sky Germany added: "With the brands of Nickelodeon, we perfectly expand the strong Sky family portfolio. We are pleased that families will be able to enjoy the diverse programmes of Nick Jr. and NickToons with Sky and Sky Ticket from April; anytime linear or on-demand.”
The deal comes just weeks after ViacomCBS Networks and Sky Italia announced a similar multi-year deal to extend their collaboration in Italy.
