Hello together,

Today we are trying to clear some things up we often see or hear from partners.

OnkelAtze did several hours of testing to break down the whole thing to the most useful settings, but first we have to talk about the backgrounds.

First of all, the Error Counter in the CacheEX Part of the WebIF is ment to show you the amount of errors you GET, FIND AND DELETE.

This Counter is basically NOT MENT as a Value to show you if some CAID or Services are still missing in the "Skip CWs checksum test only for field(s)"!

Don't let people tell you to "Skip CWs checksum test" to have no more errors, don't mess with this option if you don't know what you are doing and why.

Don't use the available CAID/Service lines to exclude CAID and Services with the "Skip CWs checksum test only for" to have no errors.

This is not the intention how to use these functions for CAID and Services which don't need exceptions.

What happens if you do this is, that you only disable the necessary checks and that's why you see no more errors, but these still exist in your cache then.

Under the bottom line you will have freezer from damaged CW and forward these to your partners, too!!!

The solution is to see errors in the Err Counter field.

Sounds bad?

Isn't it, if you see the errors this means you found them and cleared them - and don't forward these to your partners. This is a good sign, not a bad one.

And think further, if all would do this you would have no more errors from your partners! This is how to handle this situation, please spread the word.

So, why do we see that bullshitting high amount of errors we have to clear? Has our partner a bad cache? Is he using other™ software which is causing this?

No, but he heard to that many people telling you the wrong story about CRC / Err and the exceptions. This is why he doesn't clear the damaged CW and forward it to you, while he is seeing no more errors and means he has none.

Let's come to an example of my own local situation. We tested these several times now, and belive me, it works as it should.

1 - each reader has enabled the folowing option to drop bad CW:

dropbadcws = 1
2 - my global config has these options:
disablecrccws = 0
disablecrccws_only_for = 0500:030B00,050F00;098C:000000;098D:0000 00;09C4:000000
3 - within my oscam.services file I have the following service exceptions to save 48bit CW from beiing deleted:

[48_bit_exceptions]

disablecrccws_only_for_exception = 1
caid = 09C4,098C,098D
provid = 000000
srvid = 14B5,14B7,14B4,EF8A,2E87,2EA5,2E91,527E, 527D,152D,1589,152E,1586,2781,277E,EF8C, EF8B,30E8,1194,1195,1196,1197,1198,EF10, EF11,EF14,1581,EF15,EF74,EF75,EF76,EF77, 5273,5274,1519,2E9B,151A,157F,EF78,157C, 2774,2EAF,2777,30D4,0002,1392,183A,EF79, 32C9,32CA,32CB,32CC,32CD,32CE,32CF,32D0, 32D1,32D2,32D3,32D4,33A7,4E27,33A5,332D, 3337,132F,1330,33AC,33FD,1334,33FA,33FB, 33FC,33F5,33F6,33F7,33F8,33F9,1331,3402, 01A2,00E6,00E9,0133,0130,012D,01A1,0132, 012F,01A0,00EA,00E8,01A3,012E,00DC,0AB4, 00C9,01A4,0A28,0A5A,0A8C,0A96,0AA0,00CA, 0AAA,00E7,00EB,0196,6FFB
The result is that my partners don't get errors from me, while of course I am seeing the errors from my partners, until they fix this situation too.

Nevertheless, we are not able to give you neither a complete list of CAID/Services to exclude, nor a complete list for the service exceptions, but you can use the above at least as a good entry point. In my case the above values are working fine, but it is possible that you have to find out additional exclusions and / or exceptions for your local situation. But please keep in mind, don't try to reduce the Err count, you WANT to see as much errors as you can, cause this means you are handling the situation right!
Good luck and spread the word,

Cheers
