G-Core Labs launches new public cloud region in US

Taking a further stake in the States, the company's third cloud region, global provider of cloud and edge solutions G-Core Labs has launched a new presence of its public cloud in Ashburn, Virginia.

G Core Labs logo 18Aug2020With the new US facility, users can deploy a multifunctional virtual datacentre that allows them to scale their IT infrastructure in minutes, as well as significantly accelerate the development, testing and introduction of new products and services to the market. All data processing is performed in the US.

G-Core Labs public clouds have been launched in Luxembourg and Moscow. In total, the company plans to open about 10 additional public cloud points of presence on all continents of the world in the near future.

Traditionally, the main clients of G-Core Labs cloud services include mass media and publishers. However, with the onset of pandemic, the demand for cloud-based solutions for remote work has increased. Meeting this requirement, G-Core Labs provides virtual machines with Windows and Linux operating systems that act as a remote workstation for the developer or ordinary user.

“We are now focused on scalability and providing multiple locations with minimal latency. Our goal is to become a single virtual datacentre for our clients, accessible from anywhere in the world, explained Vsevolod Vayner, head of cloud platforms at G-Core Labs.. At the same time, the launch of cloud point in Ashburn is especially important for the development of G-Core Labs public cloud infrastructure, because the USA is world leader in opening new areas of applications of cloud solutions and in scale of their implementation.”

G-Core Labs global servers are located in a certified Tier III class data centre and the company provides 5 TBytes of traffic for free for each dedicated server. The global architecture of G-Core Labs content delivery network, located on five continents, was created by experts on high-load systems. It currently includes over 100 POPs located in more than 65 cities around the world, has more than 5000 peering partners, 300 cache servers and the total network capacity is over 10 Tbit/sec.

The G-Core Labs virtual server, equipped with fast SSD disks, is based on KVM virtualisation technology which is said to guarantee high and uninterrupted performance.
