Spain opens audiovisual service consultation

The Spanish regulator CNMC has opened a public consultation on the application of audiovisual regulation to providers of audiovisual communication services that are supported on video exchange platforms.

In a statement, it says that a “participatory process begins with the aim of gathering relevant information on the operation of these new services, which respond to technological advances and a change in consumer habits among younger generations. Likewise, the CNMC intends to determine the scope of the application of Law 7/2010, of March 31, General of Audiovisual Communication on these new agents of the audiovisual market”.

The public consultation will be open until November 13.
