In rare cases it can lead to a crash if AEL images are used in the infobar, SIB, channel list and others.

The entry in the crash log then looks something like this:

This crash is usually not caused by damaged images, but rather by the fact that the object reference of self.picload changes during processing and instead of the last processed ePicload object, the current ePicload object that is being processed incorrectly now appears , is deleted.

Attached you will find a slightly modified AdvancedEventLibraryImage.py to avoid these crashes.

Note: The changes contained therein do not affect whether, how or which image is displayed.

Installation:
1. Only suitable for AEL version (R124). Please check beforehand
2. Replace the AdvancedEventLibraryImage.py in the /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Components/Renderer/ directory
3. Perform GUI restart

Update AEL R144:

Switch to the new EPG add-on for searching live data for programs in the EPG (plugin EPG add-on >= V1.2 from Feed+ required)
The TVS setup and the tvsreflist.data file are no longer needed
Additional “scheduled task” (AEL update (with EPG add-on scan)) added


Update notes:
AEL can still be used without the EPG add-on (without new live data)
If the “AEL update (with EPG add-on scan)” task is used, the EPG add-on is updated first, followed by AEL. The days that were updated by the EPG add-on can be seen in the AEL log
If you perform the task regularly and do not want to check every hour, you can deactivate the “Run scan on startup” option in the EPG add-on
The EPG add-on is not updated beforehand during a manual search
The bouquets to be searched must be activated in the AEL settings and in the settings of the EPG add-on.

Preview-Bilder (TVS / Hoerzu) werden bei der Anzeige etwas höher priorisiert als bisher (dadurch werden mehr episodesspezifische Bilder angezeigt)
Bilder von TVS / Hoerzu, die grösser als 3MB sind, werden nicht mehr heruntergeladen um Crashes zu vermeiden
Zuordnung von Bildern in den verschiedenen Screens vereinheitlicht
Editor: Werden mehrere bereits zugeordnete Cover/Poster angezeigt (ohne vorherige Suche), kann ein anderes Bild davon selektiert und mit OK für den aktellen Eintrag übernommen werden
Editor: Bilder können über das Menü nach /tmp/AEL-Editor/ kopiert werden, um sie z.B. als FixedImage einzusetzen

Vor der Übernahme von Bildern aus den Aufnahmeverzeichnissen, erfolgt eine Einstufung als Poster/Cover anhand des Seitenverhältnisses

Suchlauf-Logs werden bis zu 14 Tage im Datenverzeichnis (searchLogs) gesichert (Das aktuelle Log ist weiterhin unter /tmp/AdvancedEventLibrary.log zu finden)

-Global, priority assignment of images to a title via search terms possible (fixedImages) The FixedImages are configured in the FixedImages.txt file in the plugin folder (/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/AdvancedEventLibrary/), where examples and notes can also be found
-Preview images (TVS / Hoerzu) are given slightly higher priority than before when displayed (this means that more episode-specific images are displayed)
-Images from TVS / Hoerzu that are larger than 3MB are no longer downloaded to avoid crashes
-Assignment of images in the various screens has been standardized.
-Editor: If several already assigned covers/posters are displayed (without a previous search), another image can be selected and applied to the current entry with OK.
-Editor: Images can be copied to /tmp/AEL-Editor/ via the menu, e.g. to use them as fixed images.

-Before images are transferred from the recording directories, they are classified as posters/covers based on their aspect ratio

• A free API key can be requested from omdb and entered in the AEL settings
