I agree, all Firmware after October 2011 has problems.

for clones you may be better off with old firmware,before clone detection.

why do people do a factory default on these boxes?
the firmware is full flash size 4meg,so when you load new firmware the previous firmware gets overwritten 100%.
there is no eeprom to write either,the receiver uses flash space for user data.
Full firmware never has a channel list,unless somebody posts a firmware dump from their receiver.
You back up all the settings first to usb,load firmware,then load the channel list previously saved.

Hi slugworth, happy to see you around again (virtually).

These boxes need a factory default before upgrading firmware. Theoretically you are right but if I do not do the factory default before upgrading my S9 I can't select most of options in new firmware, like Installation, System Setup and so on. After loading the Channel List, the Edit Channel menu remain unselectable. I do not know why but this happens to me. I have the original Openbox S9 and I always use firmware from JoJia Tech.

The best firmware I've used so far in my opinion is the last one from JoJia. No reboot so far.

I only ran into that problem with oddball hibox f2 firmware,which is some sort of s9 clone.
All the menu options are grayed out,factory default beforehand makes no difference.
It's almost like it's some sort of provider supplied firmware and you have to use it with their boxes.

1. Add "Micro Panel" to improve the remote control, when play channel ,press "M/P" key .
2. Add Youtube Function, (Network App).
3. When update the new firmware , keep the satellites data and system setting.(Upgrade By USB).
4. Fav groups name will be save in the TP_PROG.DBS, when dump the TP_PROG.DBS by USB.

1. stop all plugins and check the version of the loader!
