EPG download script for Ex-Yu channels
This IPK package supports latest Enigma2 images – Gemini, Newnigma and Nabilo BH versions prior to 0.12 (0.12 has this funcionality already included in the image). Installation is standard. Copy file to your /tmp folder on your satellite reciever and manually install IPK package trough the GUI of your image. After installation you will have linux shell script /usr/script/epgupdate.sh .
Script will:
* check if /usr/bin/enigma2.sh is already patched, if not patches it depending on parameters. This will not delete any existing patches if you have it.
* check if there is nmsbd, nmsbd2 or army-arial font in the image. If one of them exists fonts will be “patched” so they can display letters “šđčćž”, if not user will be warned that these letters will not be displayed correctly.
* check if cron daemon runs automatically on system startup, if not sets it to autostart
* check if crontba file exists. If yes adds itself to start on Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning at 7:30. If crontab does not exist and cron parameter is ON it will create new crontab file with this rules.
* downloads epg.dat file from internet and restarts enigma so it could reload new epg content.
Script usage
/usr/script/epgupdate.sh [medium] [restart]
Both parameters are optional. First tells the script location of Enigma2 epg file, and second one tells the script if it will be automatically restarted after EPG download.
Medium parameter can have values “usb” and “hdd”
Restart can have values 0 and 1 (default is 1)
Examples
/usr/script/epgupdate.sh hdd download on /hdd and restarts Enigma2
/usr/script/epgupdate.sh usb 0 download to USB and do not restart Enigma2
You can change parameter DefaultUsb=0 in DefaultUsb=1 if you want default medium to be USB disk inside the script itself.
Also, if you don’t want script to add itself to crontab, before first run change UseCron=1 to UseCron=0
Running
Nabilo (version prior to 0.12)
Green button –> Blue button –>epgupdate–>OK
Newnigma
Menu–>Addons–>Script Executer–>epgupdate–>OK
(if not already installed Script Executer plugin will automatically be downloaded and installed)
Gemini
Blue button–>Gemini Extras–>User script–>epgupdate–>OK
Script will work only if you have USB or HDD drive attached to your box.

MeoBoot_0.93
Welcome to developers.
MeoBoot is a Multiboot system for enigma2 Dreambox.
This site is for developers that want to include MeoBoot in its image so that their users will have the addition of MeoBoot mantaining their own image in flash and the right kernel and drivers.
Because of the dreambox hardware and the original DMM secondstage loader, we have not yet in dreambox community a "real Multiboot" system but an image startup selector. MeoBoot is included in the flash and loaded after seconstage and kernel and it mounts the filesystem of the selected user image to run.
This mean that the kernel of the images loaded in multiboot will be never loaded. The selected image is mounted and executed only after the secondstage and the kernel of the image in flash have been loaded. This is not good for image developers that cannot know what kernel and secondstage is used when its own image is running in multiboot by inexperienced users that are used to mix different kernels, drivers and secondstages using various kind of dmm multiboot systems like for example BA or MB.
For this reason many teams recommend to not use their images in multiboot. There are various opinions in Dmm community about the better image to have in flash and the other images to use in multiboot and this cause that many users flash their dreamboxes with unusued images and run other different and more complete images in multiboot for daily work.
This is not a right idea and cause many confusion. But we have to accept the idea that most of dreambox users seems like to continue to use multiboot and ignore developer suggestions about correct use of their images. A possible solution to this confusion is to include MeoBoot in the image so all the users can flash directly the preferred image and having the addition of multiboot mantaining always the right image kernel and drivers. In this site the image developers can find and download the MeoBoot openembedded module ready to to be added to their own image to be installed in flash so they can recommend to use multiboot only if their own image is installed in flash.

What is MeoBoot
MeoBoot is a new, very light, not invasive, Multiboot tool for Enigma 2 images.
MeoBoot is the answer to those who wish to have an alternative to the existing multiboot tools.
MeoBoot was written precisely for this to be simple, transparent and lightweight. It is very small compared to other MB and does not reach even a mega. It only does its job, and does not invade your dream, do not check if it is a clone or not, check your network, it does nothing extra. Only does multiboot.
System requirements
MeoBoot is currently designed to work only with Enigma 2 images for Drembox models: dm7025, dm800, dm8000.
MeoBoot can be installed on a standard CF (Compact Flash), an SD card, or a normal USB key (CF only on dm7025).
MeoBoot only accepts devices formatted in Linux (part1) and this to ensure the best performance in dreambox native environment. The HDD install option is not available. The HDD standby feature makes the HDD install a bad solution, and therefore the USB, CF and SD are preferred instead.
