The question from the title, would a Diablo CAM 2 LAN be any useful in 2022 to unlock some encrypted channels, I am mainly looking to unlock channels on the common satellites (Astra 19.2E, Eutelsat 16E, Hotbird 13E, Thor 1W, and maybe Astra 23.5E).

it has a cccam client module (also gbox and newcamd) so you can use a line in order to decode some channels...
