Belgium’s Telenet is to permanently extend its policy on homeworking.
John Porter, Telenet’s Chief Executive Officer, has told staff that due to the exceptional circumstances brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic, employees will be able to work remotely for up to 60% of their time over the course of a quarter.
Telenet is also planning a full refurbishment of our main headquarters in Mechelen.
Covid has also given the Flemish cablenet a tough comparison between the first quarter of 2021 and that of 12 months ago, when the impact of the pandemic was only beginning to be felt. Profits of €112 million were down by 27%.
However, customer base showed net broadband additions of 9,000 being added to the company’s fixed-mobile-convergence base of 660,500.
As of March 31, 2021, Telenet served 2,043,600 unique customer relationships, which represented approximately 60% of the 3,381,300 homes passed by its hybrid fiber coaxial network across Flanders and Brussels footprint.
Included are 1,799,000 video, 1,706,100 broadband internet and 1,161,000 fixed-line telephony subscriptions.
ARPU of €59.80 was up by 3%.
