Strong Quarter for Virgin Media

Virgin Media, the U.K. cable/multiplatform company, said it achieved 272,100 RGU net additions in the fiscal quarter that ended Dec. 31, making it the best performing three-month period for the company since its merger with NTL last year. The effort included 111,200 broadband net additions, for a total of 3.41 million, and 61,100 video net additions, for a final count of 3.47 million. Virgin Media competes with British Sky Broadcasting in the U.K. multiplatform marketplace.

RETAIL - Directed Electronics said the Polk Audio Designs SR-H1000 Sirius component tuner for home audio systems has started shipping to retailers. The product is sized and styled to match standard premium audio components, the company said.
