Multiplay drives bundled services in Portugal

Portugal had 4.3 million subscribers to bundled services at of the end of the first quarter.
This, according to the latest data published by the regulator ANACOM, was 4.1%, or 170,000, more than in the same period last year. The growth was mainly due to quadruple and quintuple play (4P and 5P), with over 114,000 new subscribers, and to a lesser extent triple play (3P), with over 71,000 new subscribers.
4/5P were the most used, with 2.2 million subscribers, or 50.6% of the total receiving bundled services. They were followed by 3P, with 1.7 million subscribers (39.6%).
Between January-March, revenues from bundled services amounted to around €443 million, or 3.7% more than a year earlier. Revenues from 4/5P represented 63% of the total.
In Q1, Meo had the highest share of customers receiving bundled services (40.7%), followed by Grupo Nos (36.3%), and Vodafone (19.5%) and the Nowo/Onitelecom Group (3.5%).
In terms of revenue share, Meo had41.1% of the total, followed by Grupo Nos with 40.1%; Vodafone with 16.7%; and the Nowo/Onitelecom Group with 2.1%.
