German media company Axel Springer will distribute the TV channel of its tabloid newspaper BILD on Astra (19.2° East) to DTH satellite households.

BILD, which launches on August 22, 2021, will broadcast as a free-to-air service in HD quality on the frequency 10.964 GHz H. Notably, no SD transmission is planned.

Springer subsidiary WeltN24 has rented the capacity in a new multi-year contract, Astra operator SES announced in Luxembourg. SES will also provide signal uplink and playout services for the new channel.

BILD will be WeltN24’s third channel after WELT and N24 Doku offered on Astra.
