TCL signs MPEG LA AVC Patent Portfolio Licence

TCL Electronics Holdings Limited has become a Licensee to MPEG LA’s AVC Patent Portfolio License.

It follows the July 2020 enforcement action brought by the patent pool in the Landgericht Düsseldorf, Germany against TCL Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG and TCT Mobile Germany GmbH for infringing patents essential to the AVC/H.264 (MPEG-4 Part 10) digital video coding standard used in mobile devices, televisions and other products.

Following the signature the action has been resolved.
