Amos-3 arrives at Baikonur
March 20, 2008
Spacecom Commuications’ Amos-3 satellite has arrived at the Baikonur Cosmodrome launch site in Kazakhstan.
Unlike the SES-Americom AMC-14 satellite that was on board the failed Proton rocket on March 14, Spacecom is using the Zenit-3SLB launcher. Testing and integration will be carried out locally before the scheduled launch of the satellite in late April.
Amos-3 will join the two existing Amos satellites at four degrees West. The position serves DTH markets in Europe and the Middle East as well as catering for government agencies.
