Slovenia to depoliticise public broadcaster
JULY 15, 2022 11.38 EUROPE/LONDON BY CHRIS DZIADUL
Slovenia’s National Assembly has approved proposed amendments to the law on the public broadcaster RTV Slovenia.
According to N1 TV, they envisage that management and control will be left in the hands of a unified RTV Slovenia Council instead of the Programme and Control Council.
Not one of its 17 members will be appointed by the National Assembly.
Broadband TV News notes that the amendments are designed to depoliticise the broadcaster and could result in changes in its senior management.
