Update 1.1.3 Experimental mit EPG-Injector

The new experimental version of the kiosk comes with a very special feature:

The EPG injector

The EPG injector feeds the extended program data (currently TV feature film) supplied by addons into the EPG. To do this, he clicks into the EPG queries from VTi and adds the program details (ExtendedDescription) in the background.

The extended program description works in all VTi EPG views (channel list, single EPG, multi EPG, second info bar, program detail) as well as the cool guides and MyEPG.

Requirements:

Kiosk from version 1.1.3
TV feature film addon (if possible from version 5)
The two background tasks must be activated in the kiosk configuration under "Settings TV magazine".



After booting, it takes a few seconds for the injector to become active in the EPG.
So please don't be too impatient.
First of all, don't set the delay for the start of the kiosk background tasks too low. If you use other plugins that become active when the system starts (e.g. weather), the system can be overloaded when it starts up.

Important for understanding: The injector does not change the EPG, but contributes its own additional data during the VTi query processes (hence the name Injector). Nothing is saved, the EPG database remains unchanged. Plugins and system processes that fill the EPG with data are not affected by the injector.

Which does not work:

Since the injector affects the VTi EPG query, it does not work with plugins that use their own databases or process the EPG directly (e.g. SmartEPGvu and AEL).
The additional data displayed in the EPG views are not included in the program descriptions for recordings.

The injector can currently only be used in conjunction with the TV feature film addon (by @bitschrauber), but it is basically an independent solution, i.e. it can also be used with other addons in the future that provide additional data for the EPG (but not for AEL)

In addition to the injector, the renderer KioskImage is also installed.
This can be used to supplement the skins of EPG views (channel list, single EPG, multi-EPG and program detail) with the program image provided by the addon. This also works with the cool guides.

The renderer KioskImage can display the saved images both in the VTi film list and in the EMC (also for MP4 downloads). This means it can be integrated into the MovieSelection and EMCSelection skins.

Missing information and program images can be imported later using TMDb.
The start of the TMDb export function works from the film list. (Select film -> Menu button -> TMDb Infos...)

TMDb is supplemented by a special export function for the kiosk. This will merge the existing program description (eit file) and the TMDb info (txt file) into the text file.
(This feature is still a work in progress...)


Attention: The test version is still registered by VTi as version 1.1.3, which makes it easier to switch back to the current version.
If the 1.1.3 release note appears during installation, you can ignore it.
The code already corresponds to the 1.1.4 version.

Effect 1b comes from the fact that the SecondInfoBar fires twice when the channel changes, once immediately when the channel is called up and then again when the new channel is fully running.
Since there is a noticeable switching delay when FCC is deactivated, the EPG text and the image are loaded twice and there is a flickering effect.

Technical information: The new kiosk version can now also process m3u8 containers. These are used to access distributed MP4 files and for live streams. It is now also possible to download m3u8 files. The ffmpeg package is used for this, which the kiosk installs later if required.

The test version includes an extension for the ARD and ZDF media library, which makes it possible to display the live streams lip-synchronously and in high resolution, including timeshift and recording options.

Before anyone cheers: This doesn't work for every station, and there is the limitation that it takes between 30 seconds and 2 minutes to start a lip-sync stream. Meanwhile, there are several jumps back to restore synchronicity.
This is not a fundamental solution to the synchronization problem, but rather a workaround in the event of a satellite reception problem.
The extension is also designed for the VTi standard player. When the service app is used (exteplayer3), the recording and timeshift options do not work correctly.

To test it, download ARD and ZDF from the kiosk media library and access the live streams there (entry at the back).
You will then be asked whether the stream should be started normally or in the new mode.
Tip: The live stream can be saved using the Record button.



I would like to ask for feedback on whether and how reliably the solution works for you.

Attention: The test version is still registered by VTi as version 1.1.4, which makes it easier to switch back to the current version. If the version note 1.1.4 appears during installation, you can ignore it.
The code already corresponds to the 1.1.5 version.

The new version also includes a revised configuration menu.
