Deutsche TV-Plattform elects new Board of Directors

The representatives of the more than 50 member companies, organisations and institutions of German industry association Deutsche TV-Plattform elected their new Board of Directors at today’s general assembly in Berlin.
Andre Prahl (Chief Distribution Officer RTL Deutschland and Managing Director RTL Technology) was confirmed as Chairman of the Board. Sascha Molina (Production Director NDR, for ARD), and Dr Dietmar Schill (Senior General Manager Sony R&D Tokyo, Vice President Sony Europe), who was newly appointed to the board, act as deputies.
Also new to the board is Marc Albers (Division Manager Broadband Vodafone). Joachim Abel (Vice President Product & Processes TV, Deutsche Telekom) and Christoph Mühleib (Managing Director SES Germany) were also re-elected as members of the board. The term of office of the elected board is two years.
The board of Deutsche TV-Plattform also includes the heads of the working groups (WG): Nicole Agudo Berbel (Managing Director & Chief Distribution Officer, Seven.One Entertainment Group), head of the Smart Media WG, Dr Niklas Brambring (CEO Zattoo), head of the Media over IP WG, and Stefan Kunz (VP Content Platforms & Operations, Sky Deutschland), head of the Ultra HD WG.
“The more than 50 members of Deutsche TV-Plattform represent almost all areas of our industry. This is also reflected in our board. After the digitisation of the distribution infrastructures, we are increasingly working on the IP transformation of the media industry, the use of AI and many other innovation topics such as OTT, FAST, content discovery, metadata and usability. With the new board, we are optimally positioned to continue to successfully shape the most important trends in the media industry for our members,” said Prahl.
“I am very much looking forward to working with my colleagues on the board and the members of Deutsche TV-Plattform. I would like to express my sincere thanks to Michael Zumkeller and Rolf Wierig for their outstanding commitment over the past years. They have been instrumental in shaping the successful work of Deutsche TV-Plattform.”
Wierig and Zumkeller did not stand for election again.
