If the action "Convert timeshift to recording" is started by the REC button, VTi normally ends the permanent timeshift and only starts it again when the channel is changed.
As a result, repeated timeshift operations are not possible for the current station.

The VTi Timeshift Helper plugin removes this limitation by automatically restarting the permanent timeshift. This can either happen immediately when the timeshift recording starts or only when the recording ends (by pressing the stop button).

It is also possible to extend the recording dialog that appears when you press the REC button to include the options "End Timeshift" and "Start Timeshift".
Thus, the inclined VTi user is also able to access the timeshift manually.

If a timeshift recording is created, a query now appears as to whether the live image should be retained or whether the recording should be switched to.
To do this, the movie player is started or - if installed - the EMC player.
If the time shift was used at the time of the time shift recording (time-shifted viewing), the movie player jumps directly to the last viewed position.
If the movie player is not loaded, a marker for the last seen position is created instead.

Important: When the movie player is loaded, it means that the channel list is exited. Accordingly, the time shift rests as long as the movie player is active.
