Loral to Build New DISH Satellite

Satellite manufacturer Space Systems/Loral said on Tuesday that it was selected to provide a satellite for DISH Network.

The new bird, EchoStar XV, is planned for launch in 2010. It will be the eighth Space Systems/Loral satellite built for EchoStar.

EchoStar XV will be based on the Space Systems/Loral 1300 satellite bus, the company said.
