Spain’s telecom market had retail revenues of €5.720 billion in the first quarter.

According to data published by the regulator CNMC, this was barely changed (+0.1%) on the same period last year. CNMC adds that Movistar, Orange and Vodafone accounted for 71.2% of these revenues, with a reduction of 3.9 percentage points compared to 2022.

The income of two of the main operators, Movistar and Vodafone, decreased compared to the same period in 2022, by 9.8% and 2.1%, respectively. On the other hand, Orange and Grupo Másmóvil increased their income year-on-year, by 4% and 6.1%, respectively.

CNMC goes on to say that 83.1% of active broadband lines were fibre (FTTH) at the end of March. Of the 17.8 million fixed broadband connections, those with a contracted speed of 100 Mbps or higher exceeded 16.5 million.
