NOVEMBER 6, 2023 12.15 EUROPE/LONDON BY CHRIS DZIADUL

The Slovenian regulator Akos has published a tender to provide local services in the 2300 MHz and 3600 MHz frequency bands.

Both operators and ‘verticals’, namely companies, local communities and municipalities, can submit applications until December 20.

Akos says that In total, three specific blocks are available in the public tender, two in the 2300 MHz band and one in the 3600 MHz band, for each geographical area. It will carry out the public tender with a public auction in three stages.

Three public auctions are planned, one in each stage of the public tender. In the first phase, only verticals can participate, i.e. industry, municipalities, local communities, which will use the spectrum to provide wireless electronic communications services for their own needs. In the second and third phases for the remaining spectrum, all interested bidders can participate under the same conditions.

Akos expects to make the licence awards by the middle of 2024.
