Polsat loses pay-TV customers

Poland’s Polsat Plus Group saw its contracted pay-TV subscriber base shrink by 4.8% in the year to September 30.

As of the end of Q3 it stood at 4,863,000, down 243,000 on the total 12 months earlier. The company also saw more modest declines in its contracted mobile telephony (-0.3%) and internet subscriber bases over the same period.

Polsat Plus Group notes that the 2.2% year-on-year reduction in its contracted B2C customer total was mainly due to mainly due to the price repositioning and change in the strategy of offering our video online services (in 2021, it replaced the Ipla platform with the Polsat Box Go offer, which is differently positioned in terms of pricing) and a lower number of provided satellite TV services.

This decrease was partially compensated by an increasing number of TV services offered in online technologies (IPTV/OTT).
