United Group makes international appeal

United Group has appealed to all relevant international organisations and institutions to “unreservedly condemn the illegal attack on private property and to call on the authorities in Serbia to stop the practice of abusing public institutions”.

The move follows what it describes as illegal police raids on the premises of its courier service subsidiary D Express. In a letter, United Group goes on to say: “This is the latest attack in an established policy that the government has directed against the United Group, its subsidiaries and businesses. This shows the degradation of the independence of public institutions and the deterioration of the rule of law in Serbia”.

Broadband TV News notes that United Group has a strong presence in Serbia’s electronic communications market. Its assets include Serbia Broadband (SBB), one of the country’s leading operators.
