Fastweb eyes Vodafone Italia

Swisscom’s Fastweb is reportedly in talks to buy Vodafone’s Italian operation.

According to Bloomberg, quoting an unnamed source, it is one of several companies showing an interest in acquiring Vodafone Italy. The others include Xavier Niel’s iliad, which has held on-off talks about a possible transaction over the last few months.

This was after Vodafone rejected an €11.25 billion offer from an iliad-backed consortium in 2022.

Broadband TV News notes that most recently Vodafone agreed to sell its Spanish operation to Zegona for €5 billion.
