    Labgear

    Labgear HDSR300

This HD PVR receiver was sold as a budget item in the U.K. Principle outlet was Screwfix.
CPU is an Ali M3501 and performance is good.

USB is used for recording and for software update. No update file is available, apparently.
The only similar receiver I have found is the Lion L100, which uses the same remote control but has an M3511 CPU.
It appears that the transponder list must be updated laboriously by hand.
I don't know of an engineer's menu but it would be useful to be able to dump the software.

I found that my labgear remote control can also operate my GlobalStar 7500. The keys are correct except for the lowest three rows.
It could be that both receivers are using the ubiquitous and free-of-licence-charge NEC1, device 0, protocol.

The unit uses am Ali M3602 for data processing and appears to follow the M3602 Demo Board closely.
The six pin connection labelled 401 appears to be jtag following the Demo Board connections. No UART?
I contacted Labgear. No Software or source code available.
Manhattan RS-1933 is similar but has CI and USB data dump.

    Labgear HDSR300

I found three hidden functions, all on the menu information page.

11111 factory test including colour bar display.

66666 HDMI factory data - Software is HDMI_ALI_E_090624_1

88888 epg background - not working for me

The rs232 test seems not to apply to the HDRS300
I am certain it does not have rs232 connections - scart or board level

My aim has been to produce a defaultdb.bin file to enter satellite and transponder information.
I have failed in this so must default to manual entry.
