M7 Deutschland and German network operator wilhelm.tel have renewed and extended their long-standing partnership.
With the new multi-year agreement, wilhelm.tel secures the distribution rights for a comprehensive range of premium TV channels for its cable customers.
For the first time, the partnership also includes IPTV content rights including interactive features such as instant restart, live pause, time-shifted TV and 7-day catch-up. With the multiscreen option, the channels can also be watched on a smartphone or tablet. TV recordings are possible with a network PVR-based cloud solution.
“We are proud of our long-standing, successful partnership with wilhelm.tel, one of the pioneers of fibre rollout in northern Germany. With a high-performance, innovative offering, wilhelm.tel shows how a local network operator can succeed in the market. We are pleased that we can continue to contribute to the expansion and growth in the future,” said Marco Hellberg, Managing Director of Eviso Germany, the M7 business partner in Germany.
wilhelm.tel Managing Director Arne Mietzner added: “By continuing our long-standing partnership with M7, we are not only reinforcing our attractive cable TV offering in a phase of changing market conditions, but are also supplementing it with marketing rights for IPTV channels to attract additional target groups. We are convinced that we will be able to strengthen and grow our success in the Hamburg metropolitan region by working with M7.”
