Switch the box off using the main switch at the rear.
Hold down the standby button whilst switching the receiver on.
The box will reset without using the pin code.

Useful if the pin code is forgotten but is needed to do a soft factory reset.
May help in the case of a spider box with stuck screen, making the menus unobtainable.

You will, of course, need to rescan your channels!

If, after this procedure, the Spiderbox reports that all the channels are scrambled and the audio is breaking up,
swich the box off and on. This should clear it.

I found this procedure whilst experimenting with reading from the rs232 port!
