German DTT platform Freenet TV adds RTLup

German DTT platform Freenet TV is expanding its TV channel lineup with RTLup.

The free-TV channel, which mainly shows TV classics, is now available to Freenet TV subscribers. As a spokesperson of Freenet TV operator Media Broadcast explained to Broadband TV News, RTLup replaces the channel Tele 5, which has left the DVB-T2 HD platform.

“RTLup is a perfect addition to our existing channel portfolio to offer our viewers even larger variety,” said Alicia Hellpoldt, Head of Freenet TV at Media Broadcast, adding that the channel will allow customers to travel back in time to series such as Murder, She Wrote.

If RTLup does not automatically appear in the channels list, viewers are recommended to carry out a channel search on their reception device.
