SES Prepares for Next Satellite
Despite the setback SES AMERICOM may have experienced with the failed launch of its AMC-14 satellite in March, the North American satellite services provider is moving ahead with another key mission.
This week, SES disclosed that the AMC-21 satellite is being prepared for a flight that will take place at Arianespace's Kourou, French Guyana, facility. More specifics on the launch were not available this week.
The AMC-21 satellite contains a payload of 24 Ku-Band transponders, providing capacity that will serve all 50 states. The bird will operate from the 125-degree orbital position, the company said.
