German Lokal-TV-Portal expands reach

The Lokal-TV-Portal, which provides easy access to regional and local TV channels in Germany, is now available as an app on Panasonic smart TVs.

IPTV service provider Ocilion has also added the local TV portal to its app portfolio.

The Lokal-TV-Portal, which was developed by Bavarian technical service provider bmt, offers free access to around 60 channels as livestreams. On-demand content is also available.

In addition to the HbbTV version, which has been available via satellite on Astra (19.2° East) – with TV sets connected to the internet – for 10 years, the Lokal-TV-Portal is also accessible via DTT across Germany through Freenet TV Connect and as an app for Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, JVC, LG, Magenta TV, Samsung, Techwood, Telefunken, Toshiba and Vestel.
