Try not to log off and do not delete the websites cookie . . .
My suggestion is to stop checking every memeber's status everytime you click on your mouse, i.e.:
[Check member's donation status,
If donated, service request,
If not, send Server Busy message and make him/her wait]
This in itself is a big overhead for the server and helps to exacerbate the situation.

I think the server is victim of it's success.
One of the best if not the best I have seen for years.
A donation would help If you can.
You can try access it at a different hour too.

Perhaps a few suggestions will ease the problem.
The server is scripted to give lower priority to Guests/unlogged members, SO:
Do not delete cookies in your explorer when shutting down.
Do not log off the board at end of session. (That deletes the board cookies.)
And of course, if using different PCs, no cookies, end of queque. .... Q.E.D.
If you follow that, you should have less trouble next visit.
