Harmonic has agreed to sell its Video business to MediaKind in an all-cash deal worth approximately $145 million (€134.9m), in a move that will see the US vendor concentrate on its broadband activities.

MediaKind has made a binding offer to acquire Harmonic’s Video Business segment, with completion expected in the first half of 2026, subject to French employee works council consultation, regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.

Harmonic said the transaction would accelerate its long-term strategy by concentrating investment on its virtualised broadband business, while also strengthening its balance sheet and providing additional capital to support growth and shareholder returns.

“This strategic transaction will, if completed, advance the growth strategies of both companies,” said Harmonic president and CEO Nimrod Ben-Natan. “It would allow Harmonic to zero in on its core Broadband segment, while ensuring the Video Business, its customers and dedicated employees become part of an organisation committed to the future of video delivery.”

MediaKind CEO Allen Broome said combining the two operations would create “the leading independent streaming infrastructure company”, backed by an expanded and complementary R&D platform. “By joining Harmonic’s Video Business with MediaKind, we would strengthen our ability to invest across our entire portfolio… giving customers a stronger, more reliable partner to power the future of video,” he added.

Harmonic has reaffirmed its full-company guidance for Q4 2025 and referred investors to its third-quarter results for further financial details.
