DAZN has acquired the exclusive broadcast rights to Spain’s Copa del Rey in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, further strengthening the sports streamer’s football portfolio in the region.

The four-season agreement runs from 2025/26 to 2028/29 and takes effect immediately, with live coverage beginning next week.

The first matches under the new deal will be shown from 16 to 18 December 2025, when the competition reaches the round of 32. Several top Spanish clubs face potentially tricky ties away to lower-league opposition, including Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid.

The addition of the Copa del Rey deepens DAZN’s coverage of Spanish football, complementing its existing exclusive rights to LaLiga in Germany and Austria, and from the 2026/27 season also in Switzerland. The Spanish cup competition is regarded as one of Europe’s most prestigious domestic tournaments, known for its knockout drama and historic encounters involving clubs such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atlético Madrid, Athletic Club, Valencia and Sevilla.

Alice Mascia, CEO of DAZN in the DACH region, said the deal underlines the platform’s ambition to be the primary destination for fans of Spanish football in the German-speaking markets. She described the Copa del Rey as a competition synonymous with “drama, passion and legendary moments”, adding that its combination with LaLiga makes DAZN the natural home for Spanish football in the region.

Matches from the Copa del Rey will be available as part of DAZN’s Super Sports package. The competition joins a wider international football offering on the platform, which already includes leagues such as Serie A and Ligue 1, as well as major domestic cup competitions including England’s FA Cup and Italy’s Coppa Italia.
