German media company Funke Digital has expanded its FAST portfolio in the German-speaking market with the launch of three new channels on Samsung TV Plus.
The new services – CopStories & Schnell ermittelt, Vier Frauen und ein Todesfall and Schlosshotel Orth – are now available across the DACH region.
The rollout is being delivered in partnership with content providers Highview and OneGate Media. Highview supplies the CopStories & Schnell ermittelt channel, while OneGate Media is responsible for Vier Frauen und ein Todesfall and Schlosshotel Orth.
“With these three new channels, we are expanding our portfolio with strong brands that perfectly match the viewing habits of our FAST audience. Together with our partners, we are bringing high-quality fiction content to where it is most enjoyed – easy, free and available at any time. This adds even more variety and entertainment to our growing channel portfolio,” said Rasheedat Iginla, Teamlead Content Partnerships & Programming at Funke Channels.
Benedikt Frey, Country Lead DACH & Benelux at Samsung TV Plus, added: “We are delighted to work with Funke Digital to bring these popular crime and family stories into viewers’ living rooms in the form of high-quality single-IP content. The new FAST Channels showcase iconic series that not only tell compelling stories but also add to the diversity that makes our platform accessible and entertaining.”
Funke Digital has worked with Samsung TV Plus since 2017, supplying the FAST service across Europe under the Funke Channels brand with channels spanning a wide range of genres. The company operates as a full-service provider, combining curated content portfolios with technical delivery and advertising sales.
Content-wise, the new channels focus on well-known Austrian series. CopStories & Schnell ermittelt combines two crime dramas: CopStories portrays the demanding day-to-day work of a Vienna police unit with social relevance, while Schnell ermittelt centres on investigator Angelika Schnell, blending crime storytelling with emotional depth.
Vier Frauen und ein Todesfall is set in an Austrian village, where four unconventional friends investigate unusual deaths using curiosity and determination, often unsettling both local authorities and the community. Schlosshotel Orth takes viewers to the shores of Lake Traunsee, following the hotel-owning Hofer family as family themes, romances and intrigues unfold against a scenic backdrop, with changing guests driving new storylines.
With the latest additions, Funke Channels now distributes more than 50 curated channels across 17 countries on multiple platforms.
