Telenet CTO Luk Bruynseels to move to Liberty Global

Telenet group has confirmed chief technology officer Luk Bruynseels is leaving the Belgian operator to take up a new role at parent company Liberty Global from 1 March 2026.
Bruynseels will become Managing Director Networks & Capital Allocation, with responsibility for Liberty Global’s fixed and mobile networks and related capital allocation decisions. The company said he will play a key part in shaping Liberty Global’s network strategy.
Bruynseels has spent 16 years at Telenet, holding a series of engineering and technology leadership roles. His remit included integration of the BASE mobile network, large-scale network upgrades and the introduction of an agile working model. Telenet said he has focused on customer experience and long-term value creation throughout his tenure.
Telenet CEO John Porter said the move underlines the close cooperation between Telenet and Liberty Global, and the opportunities for internal progression within the group.
Telenet said it will now focus on transferring Bruynseels’ responsibilities and appointing a successor.
