Disney has promoted Jimmy Zasowski to president of platform distribution across Disney Entertainment and ESPN, placing him in charge of global distribution for the group’s entertainment and sports media operations including those in the EMEA region.
Zasowski will oversee distribution of Disney’s direct-to-consumer services (including Disney+, Hulu and ESPN), alongside the company’s linear portfolio, ABC’s owned-and-operated stations and broadcast affiliations, plus home entertainment and content licensing.
Disney has also expanded the remit of Sean Breen, EVP of platform distribution sales for global accounts and North America, to add responsibility for EMEA, LATAM and APAC.
The appointments come after a run of high-profile US distribution stand-offs involving Disney networks, including the 2023 blackout on Charter’s Spectrum systems, a 13-day dispute with DirecTV in September 2024, and a recent carriage spat with YouTube TV that briefly removed channels including ESPN and ABC before a deal restored service.
