t4h (Tech4home) has picked up 2 German Design Awards 2026 in the Entertainment category, with its Trent Ecosystem and Pegnitz series remotes recognised as winners in Excellent Product Design.

The Trent Ecosystem pairs an OLED-based remote with a docking station designed to charge both the handset and other devices via wireless charging, with the German Design Award jury also highlighting its use of post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastics and an updatable interface intended to extend product life.

The Pegnitz series focuses on a minimalist geometric form factor with backlit keys and tactile detailing, while an “Advanced” model adds an OLED touchscreen, a rechargeable battery and a design aimed at easier disassembly and refurbishment.

t4h describes the remote as a software-updatable “platform” for operators, arguing that refreshable UI and in-hand notifications can help reduce hardware replacement cycles and support new service promotion.

The German Design Awards Show is due to take place in Frankfurt on 6 February 2026.

The designs are at the concept stage and can be developed to operator requirements.
