i have a starsat srx3100 cu and it just keeps restarting when i switch it on.it get locked on the screen UPGRADING DATA and after that it restarts again.
is there any possibility so i can bring it "back to life".

i don't know what's happened to your decoder but i can confirm that starting from 3 days ago, 3 starsat 550 super and 1 550 ultra here shown the same problem. I think is related to the signal that we recive. If you unplug the dec and start it finish the boot procedure? Mine in this way works only for clear channel not for encrypt. (after plug it again!).
Also the serial port is not working (stb failure) i made a lot of tryals with diff. sw, your?

but it got solved itself.
i just kept the stb switched off some days after that it rebooted normally :)
