[HOW TO FLASH] how to flash Edision Optimuss OS2 Plus

Flashing the Edision Optimuss OS2 Plus (Step-by-Step)

1. Prepare the USB Drive

  • Format: Use a USB 2.0 stick (FAT32). This MIPS bootloader is sensitive; a 4GB or 8GB stick is the most reliable.
  • The Folder Path: Extract your Enigma2 image (OpenATV, OpenViX, etc.). The root of your USB drive must contain this folder:

    • USB_ROOT/os2plus/

  • Verify Files: Inside the os2plus folder, you should see:

    • kernel.bin
    • rootfs.bin
    • imageversion

  • The “Force” Hack: Edision images often include a noforce file. Rename it to force if you want the flash to start automatically upon power-up.

2. The Flashing Procedure

  1. Power Off: Turn off the receiver using the physical power switch at the back.
  2. Insert USB: Plug the stick into the front USB port (located behind the front flap) for the most direct bootloader access.
  3. The Trigger:

    • Turn the power switch to ON.
    • If using force: The front VFD display will immediately indicate the flash has started.
    • If using noforce: Watch the TV screen or the front VFD. When prompted with “CONF” or “USB”, press and hold the OK button on the Remote Control.

  4. Wait: The process takes about 3–5 minutes. The VFD display will show the progress. Do not interrupt the power.
  5. Finish: The receiver will reboot automatically. You can remove the USB stick once the setup wizard appears.
