Disney+ scores Champions League rights

Disney+ has acquired live rights to men’s Champions League football for the first time in the auction of 19 TV markets for the 2027-31 cycle.

Disney has been revealed as the preferred bidder across a number of European countries which, according to The Guardian, is believed to include Belgium and Sweden, but not the UK. In Belgium, the Disney+ deal also includes rights to the Europa League and Conference League competitions.


Disney has had a longtime interest in football rights, and already shows Women’s Champions League football in various markets.
