Xdsr 200

Oke, new here and new to satellite tv...so maybe some really blond questions !!!

Yesterday a guy set up to dishes ( Nilesat and Hotbird) and gave me the Xcruiser xdsr 200 with it.

He told me it needs to be updated every month through pc Com port. I have no Com port how do I do it then?
Do I need a program for it, is this Xlink?

If I want to see Discovery, National Geo ect in English ( I have it in Polish now) do I need a card for it??

Living in Dubai I know I can get Showtime but that is a fortune for 1 Discovery channel.

I would love some info that can help me understand the whole satelite receiver options thing.

you need a usb to serial converter like :



use frist net package that is much cheaper than showtime http://213.42.93.180/firstnet/Bouque...t.aspx?BouId=5
instead of showtime for discovery channel.
by the way your receiver is enable to do internet sharing and that can open 90% nilesat channels and 30% hotbird channels. it is a long story and i think it is not allowded to talk about it on forum.
