Sky Deutschland has secured a long-term renewal of its rights agreement with the Premier League, extending the pay-TV broadcaster’s exclusive coverage in Germany and Austria until the end of the 2030/31 season, while retaining co-exclusive rights in Switzerland.
The deal, of which financial details have not been disclosed, covers all distribution platforms, including commercial premises such as bars, hotels and other public venues via Sky Business.
The agreement ensures Sky Sport will continue to show all 380 Premier League matches each season, with more than 280 available live. Combined with rights to the Bundesliga, 2. Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, English Football League and Carabao Cup, Sky Sport will offer more than 1,000 live club football matches per season.
“The Premier League is one of the absolute premium rights in international sport. With numerous German stars and many of the best players in the world, the league is particularly attractive to football fans in Germany. With the long-term rights to the Premier League and the EFL, as well as the Bundesliga, 2. Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal, Sky Sport remains the home of German and English club football and further strengthens its position as the leading sports provider,” said Barny Mills, CEO of Sky Deutschland.
Paul Molnar, Chief Media Officer of the Premier League, added: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with Sky Deutschland for a further three seasons. Sky is a first-class broadcaster, recognised for high-quality production, strong editorial standards and its long-standing commitment to comprehensive and innovative football coverage. We look forward to building on our strong collaboration to bring the Premier League even closer to our passionate fans across the region.”
